How I Met Your Mother: Thanksgiving

“Blitzgiving” Season 6, Episode 10

This episode has two main plot points; the first is the gang’s thanksgiving and the second is the story of the Blitz. The Blitz is a guy that they knew in college (real name: Steve) who was cursed. Every time he left an event, something amazing would happen and he would miss it. When Ted leaves an event early, he catches the curse of the Blitz, allowing Steve to finally experience some awesome events. While Ted is missing out on the fun, the group unexpectedly bonds with Ted’s mortal enemy, Zoey.

Moving onto the holiday plot, we follow the group as their thanksgiving attempts are thwarted. Ted’s oven is broken, Barney has no oven, Marshall and Lily’s apartment smells like sewage, and Steve has a house full of cats. However, they do have one more option… Zoey’s house. Ted and Zoey attempt to put aside their difference for the sake of the holiday, however difficult that may be.

This episode is a lot of fun and doesn’t require much outside knowledge to enjoy it. There are some great thanksgiving scenes and a delicious meal featuring Ted’s creation: the turturkeykey (a turkey stuffed inside a turkey). I definitely recommend watching this episode if you want some laughs this holiday season.
