Dawson's Creek: Thanksgiving
November 15, 2021
“Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?” Season 3, Episode 8
Things are getting awkward this Thanksgiving. When Jen’s estranged mother comes to town for the holiday, Jen must confront the complicated feelings of being unwanted. Jen and Pacey are also struggling to ignite the fire in their friends-with-benefits relationship. Meanwhile, Joey and her sister are missing their mother, especially as they strive to cook a good meal since their mother was a Thanksgiving queen. Dawson’s parents are fighting and trying to decide if they want to move forward with a separation. Jack and Andie are left home alone. As everyone’s Thanksgivings are pretty crappy, they all converge at Jen’s house for some awkward interactions… and turkey.
This episode is definitely dramatic, and if you aren’t a regular viewer, it might be a little too plot-heavy and confusing. However, if you like the show or aren’t bothered by being a little out of the loop, I think this is a decent thanksgiving episode. I would put this mid-tier. It’s not a go-to holiday episode, but it’s better than others.
