How I Met Your Mother: Thanksgiving

“Slapsgiving” Season 3, Episode 9

I love this episode so much. In this episode the group is having their first thanksgiving all alone in the city. Lily is obsessed with putting on a beautiful “grown-up” thanksgiving. Meanwhile, Marshall is planning to use the next of his slaps that he won from the slap bet he won with Barney. He decides to torture Barney by setting up a website counting down to “slapsgiving”. Meanwhile, Ted and Robin have been dancing around the awkwardness of their break up, but have to face it head on when they bake pies for thanksgiving together. This episode does have a lot of plot and kind of semi require you to understand what is going on, but I don’t think having seen the show before is entirely a necessity to enjoy it. This episode is funny, full of thanksgiving food and decor, and always gets me ready for turkey day.
