Bob's Burgers: Thanksgiving
November 20, 2021
“Now We’re Not Cooking With Gas” Season 10, Episode 8
Thanksgiving is to Bob’s Burgers as Halloween is to Brooklyn 99. It’s the holiday where the show really shines. Bob loves Thanksgiving, and this year he gets to live his dream: he gets a rare heritage turkey from a high-end farm. Just as he’s about to prepare the turkey of his dreams, the gas goes out on the block. Bob is desperate to cook this turkey, so he lights a fire in the alley and roasts the turkey over it. The kids are on kindling duty as they search for things to burn, but time is of the essence as the fire gets lower and lower. A second threat comes from the fire department, which warns Bob that if he doesn’t put the fire out, they will spray him with hoses. There is also a side plot where Tina wants everyone to decorate a paper tree by writing what they are thankful for on paper leaves. As with most ideas Tina has, she is super into it, but no one else is.
This episode is funny and super Thanksgiving-y. There is a turkey, and Bob’s frantic attempts to cook it perfectly are hilarious. Tina’s dedication to her gratitude tree is sweet and also festive. I definitely think if you’re looking for a Thanksgiving show, Bob’s Burgers is the first place to look. There’s even a whole section for it on Hulu.
