“Diarrhea of a Poopy Kid” Season 11, Episode 7

Bob’s Burgers usually knocks it out of the park; however, I think this one is not their best. I don’t mind when they have vignette episodes, and I do enjoy their parodies. Unfortunately, this episode kind of comes across as though they didn’t know what else to do.

The frame of this episode centers around Gene dealing with the stomach flu on Thanksgiving, which prevents him from engaging in his favorite holiday activity: eating. In order to ease his heartache, Tina and Louise decide to make up stories that will make Gene hate food. They do this by making food the bad guys in parodies of 80’s action movies. Louise parodies Predator, Tina parodies Air Force One, and Bob parodies Armageddon. They’re all cute but nothing special. However, there is a lot of food imagery, so if that’s what Thanksgiving is about for you, this episode might be right up your alley. I think this would be my lowest-ranked episode of Bob’s Burgers for Thanksgiving. However, a low-ranking Thanksgiving episode of Bob’s Burgers is still a high-ranking episode overall.
