High School Musical 2 (2007): Summer

WHAT TIME IS IT? SUMMER TIME! I mean, I don’t think I really need to say anything else. But I will. I will admit that I went through my HSM phase. I was 13 when the first movie came out and I was the target audience. And I shamelessly bought into that Disney marketing. I still think HSM is a cute movie. HSM2 however… is a piece of art. This movie is so over the top, so bad, so loud, and just… so so terrible that it loops back around to good. I mean, I Don’t Dance, Bet On It, Fabulous… these songs and dance numbers are so cheesy that you can’t help but love them. Also, I will be here for Lucas Grabeel until the day I die. When I’m 90, I will still be like “that man and his golf caps were the best part of the HSM franchise”. This movie follows the East High kids as they spend their summer vacation working at Sharpay’s country club. So obviously, it fits the summer theme well. Also, if you have access to Disney Channel, you’ll know that this past weekend was the DCOM marathon. So I was glued to my couch for 4 days straight because I’m not a quitter.
