“Hawaii” Season 1, Episode 23

This episode follows the Dunphy family on their family vacation in Hawaii. I think it’s pretty obvious why this episode is a summer classic. The setting is tropical and relaxing and it makes you want to hop on a plane and get your vacation started. Phil is attempting to make the trip the honeymoon he and Claire never had, while Jay is starting to worry about his health and begins manically exercising. Gloria however, just wants to relax with her husband and is irritated with Jay’s sudden energy burst. This is a great episode that accurately portrays how most family vacations feel: not nearly as relaxing as you’d hoped, but fun none the less.
