Camp Rock (2008): Summer

So I was kind of outgrowing Disney Channel when this movie premiered, but I did eventually see it. It’s cute, nothing special really. It follows Mitchie as she goes to a musical summer camp because she wants to be a singer. She falls in with the cool girls but soon realizes that she’s not happy singing backup. The story is predictable, but the songs are catchy and Demi sure can wail. Like in what universe would Meaghan Martin be the star of that camp, her voice is pretty weak tbh (not that I don’t like her, I loved her in Until Dawn). Anyway, because it’s at a summer camp it definitely fits the feel of the season. There’s campfires and canoes and cabins. The three C’s of summer movies.
