Juno (2007): Mother's Day
May 5, 2018
This movie celebrates a different kind of mother, and one that is equally important as others: the mother who puts her baby up for adoption to provide a better life for her child. This movie follows a teenager who gets pregnant and decides to put her baby up for adoption. She begins to search for a good adoptive family for her child and meets one who she thinks is perfect. The film follows her pregnancy and her emotions surrounding it. It is a great coming of age comedy that was met with critical acclaim. This is a great film for an often overlooked type of mother. Teen moms and mothers who put their children up for adoption to better their lives are usually under-appreciated and not represented in films. Check this film out as a nice change from the typical mother-daughter relationship movies.
