The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993): Halloween
October 7, 2017
Okay, so in the debate over whether this is a Halloween or Christmas movie, I’m on team Halloween. The creepy imagery far outweighs any Christmas that may be in the film. I mean the film is about the citizens of Halloween Town, people get creepy af presents, and I don’t especially get a warm glow feeling when watching it. To each their own, but for me this is all Halloween. This film follows Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King, and his discovery and fascination with Christmas. He decides that he wants to be Santa Claus and kidnaps him. However, he soon realizes putting Christmas together isn’t quite as easy as he thought it would be. This movie is an animated classic and despite Hot Topic kids making me slightly sick of Jack Skellington’s face, this movie is still a delight that I watch every single October. I highly recommend this as part of any Halloween movie marathon, it’ll definitely set the mood for some spooky fun.
