Remember in the 90's when children's shows were committed to giving us nightmares? What a time to be a kid. I always feel bad for my husband because he spent the 90's on a military base in Germany so he didn't get to experience an American 90's childhood. So this entire show is prime Halloween fodder, but this episode is actually set during Halloween so I think that makes it especially good for getting into the spooky spirit. In this episode, two boys prank a woman who is accused of being a witch. They return while trick or treating and she decides to give them a special gift. A claw that grants each person who uses it 3 wishes. The boys quickly realize that their wishes have some unwanted side effects. They begin to panic as their situation gets worse and worse, trying to find a solution. The whole "be careful what you wish for" trope is pretty common for halloween episodes, there's a very similar goosebumps episode and Simpsons short, but it's still fun and dripping with Halloween imagery. Put it on and flash back to those spooky 90's halloweens.
