Eloise at Christmastime (2003): Christmas
December 17, 2017
Ready for a rose-colored Christmas classic? Look no further than Eloise at Christmastime. This movie, based on the Eloise childrens books, follows a 6 year old girl and her holiday at the Plaza Hotel, where she lives. You definitely have to suspend belief and judgement for this one. Eloise is a precocious child who sometimes causes trouble for the Plaza employees, but always means well and loves to help others. She's also unbelievably wealthy, as her mother can afford to pay for her and her nanny to live at a ritzy hotel while she's off... doing something. While celebrating Christmas, Eloise also launches a plan to matchmake a hotel waiter and the hotel owner's daughter. This movie is cute and fun and while very unrealistic, I think is full of heartwarming charm that is really needed this time of year. I recommend checking it out if you aren't too cynical.
