The Sex Lives of College Girls: Back to School

“Welcome to Essex” Season 1, Episode 1

This entire show is a great way to get in the back-to-school spirit, especially if you dream of Ivy League days and frat party nights. This show follows four freshmen roommates navigating their first year of college and becoming close friends despite their vastly different backgrounds. Our main characters include Kimberly, a scholarship girl who is innocent and eager; Whitney, a soccer star with a famous politician for a mother; Leighton, a spoiled rich girl who is hiding deep in the closet; and Bela, a girl who dreams of being a comedy writer despite her Indian parents wanting her to be a doctor.

The pilot episode is terrific for the back-to-school season; it has some gorgeous shots of the campus, shows the girls moving into their dorms, and has some fabulous party scenes. Everything you think of when you imagine the New England college experience. I would recommend checking out not just the first episode but the entire show.
