Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009): Fall

September 13, 2017

Is this movie underrated? I'm honestly not sure how this movie has been received by the public, I don't think I hear about it too much, but I know it was a critical success. I love this movie, but I'm kind of a slut for Wes Anderson movies so it's not that surprising. This is a stop-motion animation film that follows a family of Foxes and their rodent friends. They end up at war with with a group of humans when Mr. Fox pulls a heist on their farms. Despite the fact that the humans are blowing up their home, they manage to escape and still steal the rest of the farmers' goods. The rest of the movie follows the conflict between animals and humans. This movie is hilarious and exciting, like most Wes Anderson movies. This movie evokes a delightful fall feeling for me. The colors of the film are delightful warm oranges and yellows and browns. There's gorgeous leaves and all the sweaters and clothing looks cozy. Plus one of the farmers brews alcoholic apple cider that is put to use in the battle. I think this movie is a great, funny film to watch on a brisk autumn day, it'll put you in a great mood.
