Staten Island Summer (2015): Summer

Holy shit this movie sucks.With so many SNL alums working on this you'd think it would be mildly original or funny, sadly this movie is neither. This is just a rehash of older,  better coming-of-age summer movies. The one thing this movie is is summery. Most of the film takes place at a community pool, following the lifeguards' "one last big party before college to have sex" storyline. This movie isn't terribly made. It looks fine enough, it's not like bad enough to be campy. It just kinda makes you wish you were watching a better movie. I mean you can watch this for the summer vibes, but if you're looking for a sex comedy set in summer I would recommend watching The To-Do List, which is a similar story but executed slightly better. Watch it don't watch it, you'll definitely feel like going swimming at the very least.
