How I Met Your Mother: St. Patrick's Day

"No Tomorrow" Season 3, Episode 12

Well long time no see, friends. Partially because my favorite holidays have passed, but also because I got a new job and after an 11 hours teaching preschool all I want to do is sleep. But anyway, St. Patrick's Day is coming up. There's not too many episodes or movies associated with this holiday, but one of my favorites is this episode of HIMYM. Mainly because I strongly relate to seeing people hit rock bottom. In this episode, Ted and Barney go out to celebrate and decide to live as if there's no tomorrow. Everything is going right for them, free drinks, hot girls, avoiding arrest. However, the next morning in the light of day, Ted realizes that all the things that seemed awesome with beer goggles on, were actually kind of douchey. And I think he kind of realizes that he's at a place in his life where he's feeling very lost. This is also the episode where Ted acquires the infamous yellow umbrella. I think this episode represents the American day of drinking pretty well, you're screaming no regrets while you're drunk, and realizing how many regrets you do have during the hangover. It's definitely one to watch if you're looking for something to watch this St. Patricks Day... before or after your hangover.
