The Strangers (2008): Halloween
October 24, 2018
So I remember when this film came out 10 years ago, everyone talked about how terrifying it was and how it was the scariest film of all time. I remember watching it and enjoying it but the overhyping kind of ruined it for me a little bit. I've watched it several times over the years and its still entertaining, if not a little boring at times. I think the reason this film is so scary is because it taps into our natural fear of someone invading our home at random and being a victim for no reason. It's definitely a scary film that will have you double checking the locks before you go to bed that night. This film is best viewed in the dark, under a blanket, with someone you trust nearby. There isn't any Halloween imagery or themes, but the theme of murder and stalking is always in the spirit of the haunted holiday.
