“The Slutty Pumpkin Returns” Season 7, Episode 8

The slutty pumpkin finally makes an appearance! And it’s Katie Holmes! After ten years of wondering if she was the one that got away, Ted finds the slutty pumpkin and… well, it doesn’t go well. Both of them try very hard to make the relationship they had wondered about for a decade work, but by the end, they realize that they have zero chemistry. Meanwhile, Lily has “pregnancy brain” and uncharacteristically falls in love with her grandparents’ gift to her… a house in the suburbs. While Marshall is thrilled, he realizes it isn’t right to take advantage of Lily’s pregnancy brain, so he pushes her to wait until they have to baby before deciding if they want the house. In a smaller sub-plot, Barney learns that he is a quarter Canadian and has an identity crisis. This episode revisits the rooftop Halloween party and the slutty pumpkin. It is once again full of costumes and trick or treaters and is a great episode to get you in the spirit of the season.
