"Tricks and Treats" Season 2, Episode 2

You want something scary? We'll give you something scary. In season 2 of American Horror Story, we are set at the asylum, early on in the season. Lana's partner is regretting signing her in to the asylum, meanwhile Kit is being evaluated on his fitness to stand trial. The main scare in this episode follows a young boy who is brought in for suspected demonic possession. As he is being exorcised he reveals Sister Jude's questionable past. The exorcism causes the power to fail and offers Grace and Lana an escape from the asylum; Grace refuses to leave without Kit and in a fit of jealousy, Lana calls for security to prevent any escapes. The demon living inside the young boy finds an unlikely new vessel. This episode has many parts, as most AHS episodes do. I think the main thing saving it from being unwatchable unless you've seen the show, is that it's only the second episode of the season. Had it occurred later on in the season, people would be unable to watch it if they weren't caught up on the plot. I think this is a wonderful episode to scare the pants off of you this halloween, in classic, overly complicated Ryan Murphy fashion... if that's what you're looking for.
