Sweet November (2001): Fall

September 19, 2017

IT'S A HOT DOG, IT'S A HOT DOG. Keanu Reeves screaming "it's a hot dog" is the best part of this entire movie. The rest of it is absolutely dreadful. Like Autumn in New York, this movie is about a free spirited woman who is dying and helps a man "find himself" before she kicks it. Except unlike in Autumn in New York, Keanu Reeves isn't old, he's just a busy selfish business guy. Charlize Theron's character is "quirky" and loves dogs and eat full spoonfuls of cocoa powder (I'm not even kidding, like what, why, how?). He wants to marry her but she's sick so she doesn't want to get married and it's all dramatic and dumb. This movie is stupid, but it's a fall movie, there's some pretty foliage scenes. That's the only reason I'm reviewing it. I honestly don't think there's enough autumn in the movie to warrant watching it, unless you like watching crappy films for fun. At least in Autumn in New York there's some pretty scenery to marvel at while you laugh at the dumb plot line. This one has too much dumb plot, not enough scenery.
