September (1987): Fall
September 11, 2018
This film is a drama made by Woody Allen. It's fairly boring in my opinion. Lane is recovering from a suicide attempt at her summer home and is visited by her best friend Stephanie. Unfortunately her brash mother and her husband are also there visiting, causing Lane even more turmoil. The film follows Lane as she attempts to recover and becomes entangled in a love triangle (square?) with her neighbors. This movie has the warm end of summer filter that suggests the cooling of days and cozy sweaters. Despite the film being set near a New England lake, there aren't very many shots of nature which definitely decreases the film's atmosphere. I would check this out if you've exhausted all other fall film options, but otherwise it's probably one to skip.
