Rudy (1993): Fall
September 16, 2017
Alright, just to be clear, I'm not a sports person. I played some in my youth and enjoyed it well enough, and I have a team or two I like, but I've never understood the rabid fandom that encapsulates sports culture. With that said, I like this movie. It's a bio pic about football player Daniel "Rudy" Ruetigger and his journey to playing football for Notre Dame. Maybe I like this movie because unlike most sports movies, Rudy isn't great, or even that good. He's a kid with a dream that's highly unrealistic. He has to work for his success, legitimately work for it and I really like that. As with Remember the Titans, Rudy is classified as a fall film because football. In America, football season is a big deal, and football starting up is a sign to most Americans that autumn is fast approaching. This is a great movie to watch to get you ready for football and prepare for some sweater weather.
