October Sky (1999) : Fall

Upon transferring this from Wordpress I can’t stop laughing at how short it is; it was one of my first reviews, and although I really want to update it for quality, I’m leaving it for nostalgia.

October Sky follows the true story of Homer Hickman Jr (played by Jake Gyllenhall), a coal miner's son from West Virginia who dreams of building rockets and eventually goes on to work for NASA. This is a good biographical film with some really beautiful scenery, that will get you ready for fall weather. This movie is a point of pride for the town where it happened and for the town where it was filmed, there's even an October Sky festival there every year.
