Blockers (2018): Prom
April 17, 2019
So, can I just say what a pleasant surprise this movie was? Despite my deep deep love of Ike Barinholtz I was really expecting this movie to be average at best. I was really surprised to find a charming comedy about growing up and parents coping with letting go and trusting their kids to make responsible choices on their own. This movie follows three girls who have been best friends since childhood. They all decide that they want to lose their virginities at prom. When their parents find out, they go into panic mode and attempt to crash the prom to stop them from having sex. This movie had genuinely hilarious and fresh comedy as well as some great emotional scenes about how hard entering adulthood can be for both the teens and their parents. I definitely recommend checking this film out if you're on a prom binge, but even if you aren't this film is worth watching for other reasons.
