The Phantom of the Megaplex (2000)

So when you think Disney Channel you don’t always think Phantom of the Opera adaptation but it did in fact happen in the year of our lord 2000. This movie is fun, a little dated, but a silly halloween watch. I remember watching this movie on Halloween in my youth and I always enjoy it. This movie follows 17 year old Pete who is an ambitious movie theater assistant manager. His younger siblings are movie buffs who drive him crazy. On the night of a big premiere at the megaplex things begin mysteriously going wrong. Pete’s little siblings begin to think that a phantom is working to sabotage the event and must work together with their brother to save the night. While this movie came out in 2000, it definitely has a 90’s DCOM vibe. It’s a little corny, but it’s a lot of fun. It’s not set during Halloween and it’s not all that scary, but its mysterious vibe makes it a great Halloween watch, especially for people who aren’t into scary stuff. I highly recommend it.
