Family Guy: Christmas

"A Very Special Family Guy Freakin' Christmas" Season 3, Episode 16
And we start off the holiday season!! I'm getting a later start than I'd hoped, but my computer was hanging on by a thread. Luckily it's Christmas so my fiancé got me a new one early! Happy holidays indeed. Anyway this is the first Family Guy Christmas special, and amazingly it aired 15 years ago. The age honestly really shows in the animation, character development, and voice acting. I mean Meg is finally voiced by Mila Kunis, but Lois is still actually a good mother, Stewie is still set on world domination, and Chris's voice is still a lot deeper. But this episode is charming and more wholesome than a lot of their episodes, especially in recent years. Not that I'm one to encourage censorship, but I think sometimes it's nice for things to feel genuine and nice. I mean the episode is still silly, but less crude. This episode explores how stressful Christmas can be for parents. As things continually begin to go wrong, Lois suffers from a mental breakdown as she begins to forget about the true meaning of Christmas. This episode also features one of my favorite fictional Christmas specials, "KISS Saves Santa". Man do I wish that thing was real. This episode is cute and a little cheesy, but it really is a sweet way to kick off the holiday season.
