A Christmas Story (1984): Christmas
December 24, 2016
Well if you're looking for a beloved classic, then look no further. I do know a few people that dislike this movie, but I think the general consensus is positive. I have been watching this movie every Christmas for as long as I can remember and I absolutely love it. Honestly, I don't think any movie feels like Christmas the way this one does for me, and I know that that's 100% just a personal preference. I know some scenes haven’t aged well, but I think this movie holds a lot of nostalgia for people. This movie is follows the Christmas of a little boy and his family in the 1960's. Ralphie is dreaming of a BB gun for Christmas, and despite his mother’s disapproval, he continues to seek it out from any source he possibly can. It has some classic quotes and scenes and is dripping in classic Christmas aesthetic. I highly recommend you check it out if it is somehow not on your must watch list.
Update: So, I wrote this review 4 years ago (crazy), and since then I actually got the chance to visit the christmas story house in Cleveland, Ohio. It’s a really cool and interesting tour, especially if you are a fan. I definitely recommend checking it out if you are in the area.
